About Us

Dr. Greg Shinkwin has been a practicing Endodontist in Modesto since 1998. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Sacramento and received his DDS from The University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, graduating with high honors (OKU) in 1987. Immediately following graduation, he was selected for the General Practice Residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Martinez, California. He and his wife Cindy and daughter Katie then moved to Modesto where Dr. Shinkwin began private practice in general dentistry with his father, Dr. Eugene Shinkwin who practiced general dentistry in Modesto for over 30 years. After nearly eight years of general practice Dr. Shinkwin was selected for an Endodontic Specialty Residency at Northwestern University School of Dentistry in Chicago, Illinois where he completed his Specialty Certification in Endodontics, earned his Master of Science degree in 1997, and successfully passed the Northeast Regional Specialty Board Exam. After completing his specialty training Dr. Shinkwin and family returned to Modesto and began his Endodontic practice.

Dr. Shinkwin is a long-standing member of organized Dentistry including: the American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA), Stanislaus Dental Society (SDS) (Past President), as well as the American Association of Endodontists (AAE). He has regularly volunteered with CDA Cares which was developed by the California Dental Association to provide free dental services to those in need.

Dr Shinkwin has been married to his wife Cindy since 1982. They live in Modesto and have three grown children and six grandchildren who they love spending family time with, attending to the grandkids’ activities, and often vacationing together at their favorite beaches. They also enjoy exploring California wine regions with friends and family. Dr Shinkwin is blessed with a great family, fantastic team, wonderful patients, and incredible referring doctors.
